Educational Objectives
The CSCA Consortium will develop technical skills of people from the CSCA region by participating in the recruitment and education of petroleum and natural gas engineering students. Educational opportunities are available at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Research is an integral part of graduate education at both METU and SU. The Consortium promotes the development of student expertise, as well as METU and SU faculty, in petroleum and natural gas engineering topics through coursework, research projects, and by facilitating interaction with industry. National and international collaborations through visiting scholars, industry fellows, and outreach programs will be promoted as a means to enhance the educational program. Interactions between students and sponsors will be encouraged. These interactions include internships, lectures, and field trips.
The CSCA Consortium offers a variety of educational opportunities to the petroleum industry in the CSCA region. In summary, the CSCA Consortium could
-
recruit petroleum and natural gas engineering students from the CSCA region for programs at SU or METU as appropriate;
-
enhance educational opportunities for such students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; and
-
facilitate the development and sharing of information at participating universities through such activities including, but not limited to, as visiting lecturers and collaborative research.
